Vision

The End of Homelessness in Arizona.

Mission

To serve as a leader in the efforts to end homelessness in Arizona through advocacy, education and coordination with local communities.

Guiding Principles

  1. We believe that homelessness is unacceptable.
  2. We believe that all people are valuable members of the community who deserve to be treated with dignity.
  3. We believe that a just society ensures that all individuals have the opportunity to obtain adequate food, housing, employment, education, and health care.
  4. All sectors of society - including all levels of government and the private sector - have a responsibility to collaboratively address systemic causes of homelessness.
  5. We believe that all people experiencing homelessness have a responsibility to help themselves end their homelessness to the best of their ability. We further believe that a wide variety of services should be available to help any participate in ending their homelessness.
  6. We believe that all people have the right to participate in the decisions affecting their lives. We are committed to empowering people experiencing homelessness, using their expertise to guide our work, and promoting their leadership.
  7. It is the responsibility of all sectors of society to ensure that people unable to work have a safety net of economic and social supports.
  8. Children and youth experiencing homelessness have a right to a free and appropriate education, with the suppoort necessary to succeed.

What Does AZCEH Do?

The Coalition uses the following methodologies to fulfill its mission:

Monitoring and Advocating: AZCEH works with local groups as well as its members and friends to monitor and advocate relative to state and federal policies and laws that affect homeless individuals and families and those people at-risk of homelessness.

Educating and Informing: AZCEH promotes knowledge and awareness about homelessness and its causes and effective interventions through the distribution of pertinent information as it is made available and by conducting its annual statewide conference on homelessness. AZCEH sponsors the largest annual conference on homelessness in Arizona.

Convening and Coordinating: AZCEH works to convene groups and coordinate initiatives throughout the state that are focused on the issue of homelessness by providing a venue where stakeholders can come together.
