During Veterans Day week 2011, over 160 community volunteers canvassed the streets and shelters of Phoenix to identify and survey Veterans experiencing homelessness. 216 Veterans were surveyed - 7 percent served in Iraq or Afghanistan, up from 3.2 percent last year. 52 percent have an acute medical condition. We can do better by these men and women that served our country bravely. We need your HELP to bring these Veterans HOME.
Working in partnership with the Phoenix VA, Phoenix Housing Department and Arizona Department of Veterans Services, we will assist 90 of the most vulnerable of these Veterans in securing permanent, safe and affordable housing with wrap-around supportive services. We need your help to make this housing a HOME for these Veterans.
Your donation will help us secure furniture, household items, groceries and other necessities for these Veterans as they move into their new homes in the coming weeks and months. Please help us give back to these men and women that served us.

Your donation of $45 will help buy the basics needed in a home, such as kitchen, cleaning, and bathroom supplies.

Your donation of $100 helps a Veteran with a trip to the store to fill their refrigerator and pantry with groceries for their new home.
FURNISHINGS
Your donation of $300 helps a Veteran obtain furniture and household items for their new home.
Your donation of $200 buys a start-up box containing pots and pans, dishes, utensils, linens, towels, coffee maker and other household items needed to make a house a home.

In-Kind Donations
If you'd like to make an in-kind donation of items to help a Veteran furnish their new HOME, please contact the Veteran Furniture Center, operated by United for Change. The store is located at 2319 W Holly St in Phoenix. Normal operating hours are 9 AM to 3 PM, Monday through Friday. Pick up of your items is also available. Please call (602) 303-6112. Please note that clothing is not accepted at this time.
