This course will focus on the practical application of the Service Prioritization Decision Assistance Tool (SPDAT) for coordinated entry for single adults, families, and youth, and how each student can properly and effectively administer the SPDAT in the Maricopa County Continuum of Care.

The SPDAT is an evidence-informed approach to assessing an individual’s or family’s acuity. The tool, across multiple components, prioritizes whom to serve next and why, while concurrently identifying the areas in the person/family’s life where support is most likely necessary in order to avoid housing instability.

Building on the practical foundations of education, training, and work experience, students of this course will learn best practices in SPDAT administration, as well as the significance of assessment and prioritization to service connection and housing stability, supported by Housing-Based Case Management core concepts and techniques.

NOTE: Although the SPDAT Series is provided free of charge to communities, training by OrgCode Consulting, Inc., or AZCEH as a third-party trainer authorized by OrgCode, must be successfully completed to ensure thorough and proper administration of the tool within the Maricopa County Continuum of Care. After meeting the training requirements required to administer and interpret the SPDAT Series, practitioners are permitted to implement the SPDAT in their work with clients. Please understand registration fees go towards training expenses and coordination ONLY, such as food and materials, and is important for training sustainability and ensuring community-wide inter-rater reliability. Thank you for your understanding.

    • Grace In The City: Grace Lutheran Church, 1124 North Third Street, Phoenix, AZ 85004

Join AZCEH, in partnership with Grace In the City: Grace Lutheran Church, as we observe National Homeless Persons' Memorial Day with a lunchtime screening of "The Potter's Field," which focuses on what happens to those who die while still experiencing homelessness.

National Homeless Persons' Memorial Day is observed annually on December 21st, the longest night of the year, to remember those who have died this year while still experiencing homelessness.

Join us as we screen "The Potter's Field," enjoy FREE pizza and beverages, honor those lost in 2016, and share in a brief discussion about the many ways in which we can serve and assist those experiencing homelessness in life, rather than in death.

ALL ARE ENCOURAGED AND WELCOME TO ATTEND!
For the purposes of meal planning, we ask everyone to RSVP, though please don't let a lack of an RSVP keep you from attending!
